Hey guys,

Just got accepted! I've applied for financial aid and was wondering how can get access to my package (submitted all documents)?

I’m in the exact same boat as you.

same here lol…

I think the financial aid package comes in the mail. =D

We live in the Chicago area: daughter got snail mail packet from NU today (postmarked 3/23) notifying her of acceptance and telling her to log on and establish a net ID and NU email account.

According to the info in the packet, 24 hours after doing the above you can check the receipt status of your financial aid materials. It also says the financial aid decision will be mailed and will be available online once it has been mailed. No info as to timing.

Note: I’d give you the link, but it wouldn’t do you any good because you’ll need the NetID, Student ID, and Activation Code from YOUR letter. And daughter is out of town so I don’t know yet what she will find once she activates her account.

@Jakeami-Thanks for the info. I’m just scared that since I’m in a foreign area, it will take tons of time for the snail mail to reach thus giving me less time to choose between colleges.

I am international student and waiting for the same information ahah, I am thinking of calling tomorrow and asking them if they can tell me what my financial aid package includes since I fear the mail could take some time arriving to Argentina haha.

D just accepted. Live in Chicago suburb and so received packet on Sat. Registered, etc. Have this notice for fin aid: Information unavailable. Contact your Financial Aid Office.

I followed instructions and left message this morning with “Financial Aid Office.”

Question: Is this a generic message - signifying that the info is not yet available - or might it be something else? Did any one else receive this message? Thanks!

I spoke with a pleasant person in Fin Aid (Anita, I think), and she told me that the fin aid info won’t be available for another week or so. So, question answered!

Has anyone gotten their offers yet? We haven’t…

You can access your financial aid award through the CAESAR portal. It will be listed as “View Financial Aid” under Financial Services.

Got our offer in the mail today. I was very pleased with it - it was just a little bit better than Pomona’s which met our need without any loans. Not saying I’m happy with how much they think we should pay – but all the schools seemed to agree on that. Our out of pocket would be pretty close to the same at NU, Macalester and Pomona without using loans - just grants and work study. So met full need without loans… doesn’t get a lot better than that in the FA world.

Sadly, my D already decided she’s not going to NU and let them know - so I’m just sharing this for others comparison info.
