Financial Aid - opinions please! :)

Hey guys, I know a lot of people are veterans here when it comes to USC and their aid and what not, so before i post on the financial aid thread I wanted to know a few things :) I have an EFC of 0 and handed in everything on time and just got accepted as a transfer 2 weeks ago (very very proud to be a Trojan btw) and was wondering what I can expect in terms of financial aid. I wouldn't be able to attend if they give me a WHOLE bunch of loans like UT did (they gave me 40k in loans per year..RIDICULOUS)

so if anyone has any experience, could you throw some ballpark numbers my way so i can see what to expect with my package? :) thanks to everyone who responds!

Because USC uses both the FAFSA and the CSS/Profile (which considers assets - such as home equity - that the FAFSA does not) to determine your USC-determined need, it is very hard to make any meaningful estimate of exactly what you will be awarded. That being said, it is very, very unlikely with a FAFSA EFC of 0 that you would get $40,000 in loans.

A package MIGHT include
-your USC-determined EFC (which may be MORE than the FAFSA EFC) that you would pay with cash or get PLUS loans for
-$5,500 Subs and $2,000 unsubs Stafford loans (assuming junior standing at entry)
-Work Study - I don’t know the typical amounts for a junior - probably about $3,000 - $5,000
-USC grants

Be sure to post what your results are to help future transfers - most of the info here has been about freshman packages. Good luck!
