I have viewed my ‘unofficial’ award letter online and it is all 44k in loans.

The ECE Department mailed me in Jan/Feb informing me of a one-time $1200 award, but that did not show up on the award letter.

What is strange to me is that Purdue is offering $7,000 per year, driving their cost down to 28k from 35k. If Illinois is 44k, significantly more expensive than Purdue, wouldn’t you think at least Illinois would be trying to draw the same talent? They both arguably have equally prestigious Engineering programs.

how do you get an efc of 0? im not trying to be rude, im just curious (Its hard to tell on forums)

but you would probably get a lot I think another person in this forum had an efc of 0 and she/he got around like 18k but I may be wrong you might have to check on the past posts to see.

annabanana ~
i have efc 0 because my parents make less than wat they desired. aka we’re low income family ~
i dont know how illinois’s offer is gona be like… but i think i wont be satisfied with its offer anyway ~

My D got significant scholar ships from Purdue and nothing but loans from UIUC. Since we are out of state and she likes both schools she’s going to Purdue. Seems they have more money for OSS then UIUC.

^lol, im out as well… i got like 12k in grants, 3k work study, the rest loans…
good thing michigan gave me 25k in grants/workstudy …
gluck guys :)

they just updated my fin aid status with pell grant of $5,350, and thats the only thing that showed up on my fin aid status. are they still on the process of doing grants/loans for my fin aid? and my total cost is $39,752 (including other expenses of $2,510). so do i pay them $39,752 including other expenses or $3,7242 without the other expenses?

psp-fifa, were you looking at your Financial Aid Letter( I think thats what its called) online? I saw my Pell Grant under some other category of financial aid but when I went to the “letter” it provided me with the full financial package. They might still be processing your stuff if you havent got the “letter.”

efc around 4k, only got 10k in grants, out of state student, not going to UIUC :(

civegn, can you give me a break down of each individual grant/loan you received?
also, do i pay them the total cost including other expenses or without?
