Financial Aid Priority Review

Hey guys, I'm just wondering when the accepted Priority Review students get their financial aid packages? It says on the website that students will receive an email about financial aid a few days after they are accepted, but I'm not sure if that only applies to Regular Decision or if it goes by when you submitted the FAFSA and other information... any ideas? Thanks!!!

Hi, my son was accepted PR but we have only received notification about his merit award, on his MyRoc page. We have not heard anything yet from the financial aid office. Our FAFSA is up to date and all documents have been sent to IDOC, so I hope we hear something soon! Keep us posted.

Okay thanks, I guess they just haven’t processed everything yet. I will keep you posted, let me know if you get anything as well!

Hi there!

Typically you can expect to receive your package via email within 7-10 business days of our office receiving ALL your application materials.

It will be a little slower than the 7-10 day timeframe for the first round of Priority Review packages, because we don’t pull in FAFSAs from the federal government and IDOC from the College board until mid-February.

If we don’t have all your required documents, your package will be delayed until we receive them! Contact your counselor (http://enrollment.rochester.edu/financial-aid/contact/</a>) if you have questions.

Thank you so much @URFinAid!

I just recieved an email with a link to my FA.

Me too… even though I received a merit scholarship and will be receiving need-based, it listed that my EFC was about 20k more than the cost of the school without any aid… I already emailed the FA office, but did this happen to anyone else?

Sounds similar but different to mine. When I subtract aid funding (merit, grants, loans) from the COA, I get a certain value (need to pay) which I would have thought was the EFC but in the resource area it lists EFC as $1800 more than the (need to pay) value. I’m not complaining since it is less.

Be careful not to treat the loans and work study the same as the merit and grants. With the loans and work study, you still need to pay it. They are just proposing a different way to get the money. Basically, take the grants and scholarship money and subtract it from the Total Budget on the top half, and that is how much you have to pay.

The FA calculator estimate was spot on, and we have a business. We are pleased with the aid offer, and UofR remains a great option :bz Yellowjackets!!

Interesting, the calculator was about $3k lower than what we actually got in our offer and our situation is completely straightforward (and merit was only $1k different). Also, the travel amount isn’t even enough to get my son to school and back, let alone home for Christmas. I have tried to re-run, but the Net Price Calculator appears to be broken using two different web browsers, so I can only compare to my printouts from previous runs.

May talk to them later …

I received my financial aid via email today!

I received my financial aid today! I love it!
