Financial Aid Question

Hey people! I have a question. I'm wondering if International FinAid for International Student is renewable every semester. Or does that mean only one time after admission? I'm kinda confused.

It's renewable every year, (if you adhere to stipulations, of course) and you have to fill out the forms annually, as well. It's not automatic. (To the best of my knowledge, concerning need-based intel finaid.)

thanks for the reply. What exactly do u mean by automatic? Also can anyone clarify to me what exactly is Financial Aid? I'm confused to I have to pay that back? They said I'm eligible for Transfer scholarship + academic dean scholarship + this int'l aid.

aid comes in 3 forms:
- grants - you don't have to repay these
- loans - self-explanantory
- work-study - you have to work to get this money

Yeah usually they give you your aid in combination of the above 3.. (if you requested a lot). But in some places like Princeton, they give you all in grants.

And you'll get it every year for 4 years.. (or until your undergraduate years finish)

erm be cautious of the so-called scholarships. while financial aid is almost always available for the entire 4 years of ur undergrad study, scholarships might be a one-off thing and not renewable, though this is not as common in US unis as compared to Canadian unis.

thanks for all the replies.
