Does anyone know of any service that shows the profiles of schools for the type of financial aid they offer? I am one of six children who will be in school, with at least three of us in school at the same time, all 4 years of my undergrad, but we make enough money that I don't think I will get much back on the FAFSA. I am looking at fastwebs, and I am trying to find other scholarships, but does anyone have advice on how to find out how much money schools actually give out in AND out of state OR some good places to look elsewhere for money for college?

Cappex has a merit aid chart for each school and a merit aid directory. It’s a bit more convenient than going to each individual school and looking them up, though you can’t really search for schools that offer certain types of aid.

I also like this site as it gives more detail than most of the others, and takes loans out of the numbers. Use the “compare” tool to get a side by side look of up to 3 schools at a time.

[Student Aid on the Web](http://www.studentaid2.ed.gov/gotocollege/campustour/)

Merit aid will likely be key for you as you need as much as possible on a renewable basis. Look at the sticky at the top of this forum and search for threads by momfromtexas. You’ll find several very useful, but lengthy, discussions on merit aid.

Don’t forget to use your school’s website guidance office (and websites of neighboring schools) to look for local scholarships too. You probably won’t need to apply to those til mid-senior year, but they can add up quickly. Also, searching CC for scholarship threads to get some actual results input can help you see which national ones you’re likely to be competitive for. Good luck!
