I attended a University during the Spring semester of the 2009-2010 school year. I received student loans at the time but they were not enough to cover all of the costs of attending like I had originally thought. The University then sent my unpaid balance to a collections agency and is refusing to release my transcript. Is there any type of student loan/aid I can apply for to pay the collections agency to have my transcript released?

No, there are no student loans or aid that can be used to pay off old delinquent balances. Student aid is for current school attendance.

Refusing to release a transcript until all debts are paid is standard operations for a school. After all, you used a service you have not yet paid for. Your best option is to work to pay off the balance.

Good luck.
