Hey guys so last year was my first year at NYU and my FA was suspended. So this is hard to explain, but I was doing great before I got sick. I am a biology major and took three classes because I was late to sign up. I was really happy that I was doing well, turns out half way through the semester I need a new kidney. My first time going through dialysis was rough, I didnt want to do it again but I had to. The second time I did it I felt very sick and went into a coma for thirty days. Yes thirty whole days, by the time I awoke this semester was coming to an end. My grades were now terrible, I told the school what happened but they were unable to do anything because it was my fault for not withdrawing. They withdraw date was already over so there was nothing I could do anyways? I try to do a complete withdraw but if I did I would owe all that money. So my grades are three fs. I missed second semester from recovering, and yes I got a new kidney thanks to a generous family member whom I now owe my life to. I am now on Financial aid suspension and have no ways for paying for college. I did so well in HS to get all my scholarships and now everything is ruined. What do I do? Can I appeal to NYU, I wasnt really in the mindset, so I have no idea what happened when all this was going on, its a really big blur. I know I'm okay now, but how do I get my FA back? If NYU doesnt want me does this follow me from school to school? Can I sue over this? Thanks guys, I'm at a loss...

Contact the dean of students. Have documentation of your health issues and a good reason why no one contacted NYU on your behalf when you were ill. Perhaps the dean of students will be able to help you.
