Financial Aid

Hey guys :)
I'm a rising senior and I was wondering if you guys could tell me if colleges would give me a better financial package because of my mother well she's:
- a single mother
Makes $60,000 a year (she's a nurse working for the state)
She's currently enrolled in Adelphi university half time and will be for 4 years and she pays around $10,000
She's adopting a child from Haiti and that's costing her about $12,000
And she'll be soon buying a house and houses are expensive these days where I live.
Oh and she also has two other kids but they're younger .

But I'm more worried about the fact that she'll be paying for her expenses in college and mine as well :/ and I don't think she can handle that..

No. I don’t think so. Find the schools that you like to attend, and then figuring how much financial aid by doing their NPC

While the things that your mom are doing are noble (raising three and now four kids on her own while attending college), they will not give you a better financial aid package.

And one might wonder why she is trying to adopt a fourth child and purchase a home while attending college, knowing that her daughter will need help to pay for college…

What are your grades and test scores? You will need to look at schools that provide generous merit scholarships if you qualify for them. Adoption and home mortgage costs are not factored into most financial aid applications.
