Financial Aid

I have the scholarship info but when does the full financial aid package come out?

Just spoke to someone in financial aid and the packages are starting to go out this week so hopefully within the next week or so…

@brokemomofdd @kanjfn23 It’s posted on my.sc.edu today.

Ours arrived today via email…

Sadly nothing additional offered but unsubsidized loan…

So there are 2 types of potential money, yes? Scholarship (based on grades/test scores) and then financial aid (based on need???)? Looks like DS had a “tuition reduction” as an out of state student…I assume due to grades/test scores…and then a $500 award plus a federal loan of like $5500/year. Does that sound like I may have that right? Don’t think we’ll do the federal loan, however.

@x2018x I think you have it right. Does it say Superlative next to the $500? If so that is the merit funding in addition to the tuition reduction from OOS to in-state level. You can reject the federal loan amount of $5,500 if you choose. Best of luck!

@x2018x You have it right. The $500 scholarship is part of the tuition reduction package. It will be split between each semester. If the student loan is subsidized, that is deferred interest payment. The unsubsidized loan accrue interest right away. Welcome to USC!
