Financial Aid

Hey there! I just have a quick question...

I marked that I would need financial aid, but (this is silly) my parents are having second thoughts. :/

If I don't file any of the paperwork, will they just think that I don't need financial aid?

hmmm your parents shouldn't have second thoughts. . . . unless they really think they can pay without the stupid loans and work study

just remember that a lot of people who expect aid don't get it and a lot of people who don't expect aid get it. . . .

and admissions at Columbia is need-blind, so applying for finaid has no impact on your acceptance decision at Columbia

if you're a minority, you might have some additional scholarship options at the school, like Kluge

and if your parents decide not to apply for finaid, call or email the admissions office to let them know. ugrad-ask@columbia.edu
