In FAQs for International Students I found this:
"While the financial aid process is competitive because of a limited budget, the actual amount of a student’s contribution DOES NOT AFFECT our admission decision."
As far as I know Colgate is not need-blind. What do they mean by it?

Basically what happens is that Colgate reviews applications and they come in. When they are down to, say, the last 200-300 applications. They consult with the Finaid people to see how much money they have left to spend. Colgate is generous with aid and will meet 100% of need if you’re admitted. So, if there is plenty of money left, they will proceed as they have done. If it looks like they’ll need to admit a few more full-paying students, they will do so at the expense of needy students.

So, Colgate IS supportive and generous to those they actually admit but are going to be more conscious of students in need when they wrap up the admissions process so you better hope that you’re admitted before they read that last batch! :)

Means they like you better if you pay full price ;)

Our experience is that if Colgate really likes you, their fin. aid offer will be quite generous.

If not, then they won’t offer much

Thank you!
