Financial Analyst or Consulting for MBA Program Consideration?

Hi all,

I am graduating from USC in May with an average 3.3ish GPA with a degree in Corporate Finance.

I have two job offers lined up: One is a Finance Leadership Development Program where I work for one year in one field of finance and then work in a completely different field for another year. It's supposed to be a fast track program for financial analysts.

The other job is a consulting analyst position at Accenture working in Systems Integration and Technology. This career is more IT-related but I can still work with financial systems.

Obviously Accenture is well known and people have told me that it looks good on the resume. I have experience in their line of work and have enjoyed myself. However, after reading up on a number of career reviews of the company, it looks like I would be working a ton of hours. I'm worried I may not get the chance to study for the GMAT.

Also, I am leaning toward the financial analyst position because I feel that it's most pertinent to my degree and I sincerely enjoy working in finance. However, in the end, I guess it comes down to which job well give me the best chance to get into a good MBA school (both allowing me time to study and the quality of the position).

Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.

Bump…

Well, I think it doesn`t really matter. As far as I am concerned, people from completely different realms go to top MBA programs so I think that as long as you provide the required GPA,GMAT, and prove your leadership qualities, you should be fine.
