Do any of the big online schools offer any financial support for online students aside from general scholarships and financial aid? Thinking more along the lines of how in-person colleges might have food pantries/programs or things like that who are struggling financially while in school, regardless of their ability to pay for school itself.
If you are in an area where a university that has online programs and degrees is located and you are enrolled you can typically take advantage of things like that, but not from 1500 miles away.
Some offer counseling, financial aid planning, and links to resources online.
Your local food pantry or churches may be able to help. Find a food bank here: https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank
Please beware of online schools that push huge student loans that cover way more than your tuition and basic needs. Some will push loans for all expenses as it was a brick and mortar for room and board. I know adult learners with loans for online colleges over $150,000 because they took out loans for tuition and their full cost of living. They did not even look at what their instate online options were first or flexible course times at local colleges.
