So my younger sister's having a hard time figuring out what colleges she'd like to apply to. I think she's really intimidated by the wide selection out there and doesn't really know where to begin. I've tried to help her, but she doesn't seem interested in any of the colleges I've come up with, so I figured I'd come here!

She has around a 1670 SAT score, roughly equal distribution, and is in the top 14% of her class. Suburban New Jerseyan, White and Jewish, around 400 kids in her class. Decent ECs but nothing mind-blowing (she's in the marching band, works a summer job, a few honor societies, etc.).

I think she's looking for a city-ish environment, not NYC but also not more than 5-6 hours away from home (which is New Jersey). A student body that's not enormous (like most state schools) yet not too small (like many of the liberal arts colleges I've told her about, which have maybe 500 kids a class). A big thing is that she'd really prefer to not have communal hall bathrooms, and I can't think of too many schools that would have the private bathrooms in freshman dorms. No all-girl schools and nothing religious.

Any ideas, CC?
