Finding Safety Schools.

I'm having trouble finding safety schools. My GPA is 3.9 un-weighted and 4.5 weighted. I'm homeschooled and I've been taking college classes through Montgomery County Community College since I was 15, mostly full time. I plan on majoring in studio art.

My ACT scores are not great though. The first time I took the test I got a 23. I plan on retaking the ACT in October and I'm shooting for a 28-30, but it's not guaranteed that I will bring my score up that much.

Can anyone suggest some safety schools for me? I prefer an urban or suburban area, nothing rural. I also prefer liberal arts colleges, but I can make exceptions for true safeties. Please nothing on the west coast.

Thanks!

For a safety to be a safety it also has to be affordable. It won’t do you any good to have acceptances without affordability. Most safeties do not give great need-based aid.

So, how much will your family pay each year?

What state are you in?

Are you also going to take the SAT? you should.

If money is a concern, then your safety may be the local state school that you can commute to.
