Fine arts majors

I'm a high school senior and I think I finally figured out my majors but I can't choose which ones exactly.I want to do a double major one in science(biology) and the other in art(fine arts).
For arts its confusing because there are so many options.I want to do graphic design, interior design, textile, photography, but I don't want to have to choose only one.

Does anyone know if there's a major that sums it all up? I don't think studio art includes graphic/interior design.Art school would be too expensive plus I want to do biology. If I do a double major what would be the difference from a minor and do I get both a BS and a BA or BFA?

I don’t know of any non-art schools that offer all those art concentrations, but I’m sure there are some out there. You may find graphic design and photography, but textiles and interior design are a little more specialized. If you double major, you only get one degree, and it won’t be a BFA. For a BFA, there’s a 70/30 ration of art classes (70) to general education classes (30), and you won’t be able to have enough science credits for a BS in Biology. Unless of course, you take an extra year or two to finish.

What field do you see yourself working it? That might be where you want to start. My D loved art and biology, but art won out, and she is now at an art school, but still able to take enough science to keep her happy. You might start by looking at the art offerings, and see which schools have a good selection of what you are interested in. Biology is Biology wherever you go.

Ya most of the schools I was looking at either had a lot of sciences but few arts or few of both but I found maybe 4 that have a good amount.I was looking into CSUs-San Fransico,Long Beach or San Diego. They have marine biology and interior design, photography, textiles ect but not fashion design.

I recently noticed how many options there are with arts so its really hard for me to narrow it down but maybe I should take a couple of classes to see which one I like.I can’t go to art school because I think it’s too expensive and my mom would definately not support me.

And I thought I was the only one with this major combo, did you daughter always love art or science because I was always more into science in school but did arts&craft/drawing as a hobby.

Nevermind I called Long Beach and the art&biology combo wuoldnt be allowed since the upper&lower divsion courses are completely different but that’s for your help.

I mean “Thanks for your help”

She was always like that. She loved all the science classes, very interested in bones, skulls, loved her marine biology class. And she has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. Her science interest appears very often in her art work.

Look at Northern Michigan University. It’s in Marquette, Michigan, a small town but known for its outdoor activities. They have a stand alone brand new art building. They offered my D a really nice scholarship to go there, and their OOS tuition was VERY reasonable, but MCAD won out - she wanted a regular art school in a big city. I know they have photography, because on the tour, it was a photography prof who took us around. They were very eager to expand their demographic, so if you’re from the west coast, you might have a good shot.

Well id definately want to go to school in urban/city area too since I’m use to it and eventhough I want a new experience, small towns freak me out.
I’ll probably go to school in CA b/c my mom doesn’t want me to go too far even out of our county so I’m leaning more towards community college.

It seems like you want a program like UCLA’s media design program.

Lol ya as if i could get in,but i plan to go to cc then csu.
