<p>My two main teacher recommendations are from my APUSH teacher and AP Physics teacher. Two additional recs from my Studio Art teacher and Solo Dance teacher. One counselor rec. My main teacher recs should be pretty good - I worked really hard in APUSH, to go from a low C to A in 1st quarter (and my teacher awarded me Student of the Year for APUSH). My AP Physics teacher likes me - I participate in class discussion a lot, I do relatively well on his tests (which are all very difficult), and I'm one of the only two junior girls that took AP Physics last year. My Studio Art teacher and I have a very good relationship, and we talk a lot about our personal lives and aspirations. I have known my dance teacher since I was 8 so she knows me very well and considers me as a very hardworking student. Counselor rec should be good too - she interviewed me and the talk became very personal and intriguing. I sent art supplement forms for Visual Arts and Dance to those colleges that offer Art Forms. </p>

<p>Majors (that I'm thinking of): Electrical Engineering (1st choice), Astrophysics (2nd choice), Biology/Neuroscience (3rd choice) Minors: Dance, Drawing</p>

<p>Essays- worked the hardest on my Penn/Princeton Essays. </p>

<p>Princeton - wrote about my grandmother's plastic surgery incident and how that affected me (a rather dark, graphic story; risky essay but I personally liked it and most of my friends enjoyed it as well), Engineering Essay - metaphorically compared my struggle with physics to war and how that shaped my love for physics/engineering (my college coordinator was in LOVE with this essay)
Penn - "Why UPenn" essay - I wrote about EpicMealTime and compared UPenn to a delicious meal, personally my favorite essay (worked on it for 2 weeks with minimal sleep), Penn Optional - talked about my hobby of stealing food </p>

<p>Main Concerns: Definitely my SAT score ...</p>

<p>You’ve done a lot of very interesting things but I think Princeton and Penn are crapshoots for everyone and your CR score will drag you down. However you already in at Georgia Tech which is a fabulous engineering school.</p>

<p>I also suggest shortening your posts to about 1/3 the length of yours if you want people to read and reply!</p>

<p>Your EC’s are really impressive. Ivy’s are all reaches as they are for 99% of applicants, but I feel like you have a really good chance at WashU and UVA and an especially good shot at Johns Hopkins. Congrats on UMichigan, by the way! I regret not applying there. It’s a great school. Georgia Tech and Purdue are great as well. Regardless of whether or not you get into these schools, you have so many good options to choose from. Good luck!</p>

<p>The elite schools you are applying to (HYPed) are reaches for almost everyone, yourself included.</p>

<p>Example: Brown says no to about 83% of those with an 800 Math, 86% of those with a 750-790 W and 81% of Valedictorians.</p>

<p>Maybe you will get a yes . … you are a fine candidate and can no doubt flourish there but the data say that chances are slim for HYPed schools.</p>

<p>Wow, your EC’s are really amazing (esp. the dance), but that SAT CR score will hurt you a bit. Princeton and UPenn are reaches for anyone, but you have a good shot. As for the rest, I’d personally say you’re in at most of them. </p>

<p>Yea I know. My SAT scores went from 1990->1950->2000->2170. I got 610 on CR the first time I took the SAT but then my CR score never passed that mark afterwards. My goal for the Dec SAT was just to raise my CR score to 700 (I scored a 720 on CR on a practice test before) but then instead my Math and Writing Score shot up drastically while CR was still below 610 -_- My nerves always get me during the Critical Reading sections. ■■■. </p>
