Finished Blue book but still dont feel confident

lets say you finish all the practice tests in the blue book and you're looking for more practice tests....where should you go?

i kno there is the online test on CB but is there any other reliable source for practice SAT tests?

PR 11 practice tests for the new SAT I found very useful for math practice. Okay for writing. Not so great for CR.

so whats good for CR cause thats the section i score lowest in, i keep getting 570's on the CR which is frustrating because i follow the ways you're supposed to approach it and all

Get 10 Real SAT's for the CR. It is by CB also and contains the older version of the SAT. Still useable for the CR. Just ignore the analogies and math sections.

what if you're one of those people who suck at CR and no matter how much practice you do, you still score low. what to do?

lol, try reading books/articles.

how much reading do i have to do to make the CR section work for me? Theres no limit is there...

Leave the books and articles on the shelf were they belong.TRUST ME

Pick up a dictionary. One alphabet a day. Read the whole thing. It's really not that hard. you have till October(4 months). Find a dictionary with very concise, simple, comprehensible word definitions. You'll be done in 26 days ,THEN start taking the practice tests again.

...you're kidding right

Nope. Not joking at all. Think about it. You're going to skip over HALF the words in the dictionary. There are lots of nouns in there, scientific terms, obscure animals(aardvark), tonnes of terms that you just dont need to know(names of african tribes, etc). You'll skip over a lot of sh-it. I just finished alphabet 'A' yesterday. Its like reading a novel. Dont be so quick to dismiss the idea just because most people probably think its ridiculous. Try it- and you'll find it's not 'grueling' by any means. Also- think about the LONG TERM benefits. Not just the SAT's.

what are the chances you'll remember the A words by the time you take the SAT?

If you study with the right dictionary, the right way,see how the words are used in sentences, you'll remember the most important ones. Its not just reading the dictionary and waiting to take the test. You'll read the dictionary and then do a tonne of practice tests. You'll keep seeing the words in the answer choices, recognize them, and naturally try and figure out their definitions because you KNOW you remember them. You'll hear the words used on TV and react the same way.So you learn by rote.

caa5042 get a life kthx

I can feel Caa5042's animosity toward the SAT. He must have tried the SAT so many times but still got a really low CR score.

caa5042 I believe thats a little radical because 90% of the words on the SAT will NEVER be on there. I think that you should get the PR book and study all the vocab words that it contains. They already did the work for you, now all you have to do is study!

Get either PR book...the main Cracking one if you need tips too, or the 11 Practice tests one.
