First Gen College Student from Upper Middle Class Community--Chances?

GPA: 96/100 (W), 93.5/100 (UW)--school doesn't rank
Classes: 8 AP Classes, the rest are mostly honors
Highest SAT Scores:</p>

<p>CR: 800
MATH: 670
WRT: 740</p>

<p>US History: 750

Lit: 650</p>

<p>Recs: Didn't see them but from AP English and AP US teachers--both seemed to like me</p>

<p>Essays: Common App essay about overcoming obesity, other essays full of anecdotes, Yale essay in the 2nd person</p>

<p>It really depends on your essays and recs for some of these schools. Fordham, NYU, vanderbilt and American you can probably get into, not sure (cause i don't know too much about these schools) about JHU, Tufts, Syracuse and BC but the Ivy leagues and georgetown will probably come down to how well you'll be able to set yourself apart from the other students. I think first gen (esp one with high grades) will help you.</p>

<p>My school is a public school just to clarify and the internship was in Paris for several weeks.
I also completely forgot to include honors/Awards. Basically I have 6 marking periods of Principals Honor Roll (All As) and 7 of Honor Roll (As and Bs). I also received the AP Scholar with Honor award. </p>

<p>I'm trying to gauge how much being a first generation college student affects my admissions chances and how much, if at all, it strengthens my application.</p>
