First housing deposit UCR?

Im not sure if Ill go to this school but
if I did I would live on campus
But I heard that I have to pay the first deposit out of my on pocket
what If I cant afford it ( its over $600)
is there ANY way I could get financial aid to cover this?

I am in the same boat man I wish people answered questions like this on here instead of the super obvious ones that a million people rush to answer.

Their FAQ says that the housing deposit must be paid with personal funds, but that subsequent payments can be paid with financial aid. Why don’t you give the housing office a call to see if there might be any other options?
“Student residents who anticipate having difficulty making a housing payment should contact the Resident Accounts Office at (951) 827-6350 BEFORE the problem causes a late payment to discuss an alternative payment schedule”

It seems rather ridiculous that students with a zero EFC are expected to put up so much money at this time of the year.

Do either of you qualify for Pell grants? If so, some schools will waive these deposits since they know these kids don’t have the means to make these deposits.

If you do qualify for Pell, then ask for a deposit waiver.

Yes
My EFC is 0
Ill give them a call.
Thanks!

hey i was wondering if you got new information about it because im in the same situation
thanks

Don- I´ve decided that I won´t be going to UCR, so I never called the financial aid office
sorry
But you should try calling them to the number arabrab posted
I Hope everything works out for you!
