First in generation scholarship?

Anyone know the average stats of someone who receives this scholarship? Do I have a good shot with a 30/4.1

@Skyler99, do you mean the “First Scholars Program”? The link to that program seems to be broken or outdated. Maybe you use that as an excuse can call to ask?

Or do you mean the Coca-Cola First Generation scholarship? You have to be an AL resident for that one, and it looks like financial need plays a role in deciding who gets it:

Did you receive the UA Scholars award? What is your major?

I’m referring to the Coca Cola one.

I’ve received the presidential. Economics or computer science not yet decided

@skyler99 If you’re considering CS, then you need to put that NOW…while you’re deciding. CS majors get an extra 2500 per year with your stats. BUT, if you decide later you wont get it. You need to go into MyBama and put CS now…you can always change to something else later…but you need to put CS now.

@Skyler99, it’s not clear if they give preference to eligible students who didn’t qualify for the Presidential, in the hope of spreading the aid around. Hard to know without asking them.

How many Coca Cola awards are there at UA for incoming frosh?

@mom2collegekids, check out those links I shared in #1. I thought they said they awarded eight to Bama students last year or the year before, so not a whole lot.
