First practice test

600 - CR
570 - M
530 - W

Total of 1700.

I'm a junior atm started school last week. Now I plan on taking the test in senior year and 1 real SAT end of Junior probably to see the baseline score and improve on that in senior by a retake.

But i'm wondering how EASY is it to bump a score from 1700 to a 2000+? I know it's possible, but what's the difficulty?

I only have literally junior year and 1 summer to practice as much as I can. But the thing is throughout Junior year, I have difficult classes and AP's to work with along with mouthloads of EC's. I don't know how I can impliment the SAT regimen during schooldays?

It certainly won’t be easy to raise your score by 300 points. Scoring at or below 600 on each section probably means that you’re missing a few important basics and that it’s not just a matter of unfamiliarity with the test. You said that you were taking AP classes, but which ones? If your taking AP Lang, your writing and critical reading scores will most likely increase even if you don’t practice (but you should still practice). As for the math section, everything that’s on the test is material that you should have learned by now. It’s possible that you may have to go back and freshen your understanding of the basics, as some of the material dates back to freshman level math. Also, you need to memorize vocab, which will take time and dedication. I’d recommend getting the PWN the SAT Math book, Direct Hits Vol. 1 & 2, and The Ultimate Guide to Sat Grammar. Once you have the basics down start practicing out of the Blue Book. You have more than enough time to get ready and seeing as you’re busy with school you should start now, spending 20-30 minutes on studying everyday or every other day.

Thanks for the reply, and let me answer some questions.

Yeah, the AP classes I take are: AP Language and Composition, AP Biology, AP US History. I’m hoping that the reading from the AP Language and Comp and AP US History will get me familiar with hard reading.

I actually always score on math sections. On the PSAT, I recieved a score of 64 (maybe in the range of 600-650 on the SAT) on the math section and usually when I do individual sections, i can score 600 and up on math. This was the first time I sat and did the whole SAT together after 1 year of not doing anything.

It was a whole year before I even looked at the SAT, and now I forgot alot of math skills I knew before, so I had to retouch some.

Also, I didn’t expect 1700 to a 2000 would be a easy endeavour, but seeing as how my critical reading scores were low last year for psat’s and boosted them up, i’m hopeful that my new challenging AP Lang can boost it up more.
