First time poster, could you rate my chances

could just a few more people (2-3) rate my chances! I would really appreciate it, and am already very appreciative of those who rated me!

rate me please

…chance me

Ok, I’ll chance you, but you have to lay off constantly bumping this thread. First of all, north_face’s chances are waaay off. Here you go:
Harvard - 10%
Stanford - 10%
Princeton - 10%
Dartmouth - 15%
Pomona - 30%
Cornell - 25%
Williams - 30%
Georgetown - 60%
Northwestern - 25%
Carnegie Mellon - 65%
Wake Forest - 100%

If you don’t get into Wake I would be shocked. As for the others, it’s looking pretty good. I would say Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon will probably accept you. As for the rest of your list, it’s usually pretty random how it all plays out.

alright thanks, and im done bumping it, got everything i need. northface was not giving my chances, rather the acceptance rates of all the schools lol. He was trying to point out that even my “safeties” are in reality tough to get into.

Well, he does have a point. You do need some safeties other than what you have listed. Tack on UNC and NC state to your list just in case (by some ridiculous act of chance) none of your schools accept you

Hey, you have some really amazing extracirriculars. Your test scores/grades seem to be a bit average for an Ivy League applicant but otherwise quite top notch. To put it bluntly, I really believe you have a strong chance at all these schools. Just keep on improving your grades. I think it’ll be about character that gives you the edge over others and you can certainly display some in your essays and interview

But remember this: there’s no guarantee with colleges. You can be the perfect student with perfect score, perfect essay, perfect interview, etc, and still get rejected; it really happens sometimes! Be sure to have some safeties but I have no doubt you will be a formidable candidate against other applicants.

Best of luck to you and hope to see you in Harvard, since that’s the school we’re both interested in lol

Edit: Actually, I reviewed your grades again and realized you only had one “B” in calculus. Personally, I think you have fantastic grades as well. I think the only “average to Ivy League” is your Subject tests, which ivy league applicants (as far as I know) average 780-800.

Mvingi: “(I would agree with the post above mine’s analysis except I would call Dartmouth and Cornell more of high matches than reaches)”

Hey again. I’m not denying that you’re a remarkable student. I was just trying to show that even the lower ivies are harder to get into than the other schools on your list, because some people seem to make the assumption that because it’s a lower ivy, it’s not that difficult, when in reality, Cornell’s 19% acceptance rate is low! GL again!

“But you also have to consider that it is a much weaker applicant pool”.

Not true, at least not in the case of the so-called “lower Ivies”. Tons of people applying to HYPS would also be applying to them, so it’s mostly the same applicant pool.

Harvard - 15%
Stanford - 20%
Princeton - 20%
Dartmouth - 40%
Pomona - 40%
Cornell - 60%
Williams - 50%
Georgetown - 80%
Northwestern - 75%
Carnegie Mellon - 90%
Wake Forest - 100%

Harvard - reach
Princeton - reach
Dartmouth - low reach
Cornell - in
Georgetown - in
Wake Forest - safety
Northwestern - in
Williams - in
Pomona - low reach
Stanford - reach
Carnegie Mellon- in

chance me back

thanks everyone! if anyone else would like to chance me that would be awesome

Yeah, supposedly, the applicant pool is just going to get tougher and tougher year after year. After all, the population is increasing, and the top schools will always have the best aid.

yes, i agree completely

hey mcfly, very strong application

Harvard - reach
Princeton - reach
Dartmouth - low reach
Cornell - in
Georgetown - in
Wake Forest - safety
Northwestern - safety (if the acceptance at your school is like you say)
Williams - in
Pomona - low reach (same as williams only no legacy)
Stanford - reach
Carnegie Mellon- in

load up your essays. you have some fabulous E.Cs and the grades are also great. An SAT score 2250+ could not hurt either for some of those east coast schools, though a strong ACT like yours will work as well. Good Luck!

hey thanks! could anyone else please chance me. i would greatly appreciate it

Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Standford - Pretty good chance
Georgetown, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Williams, Carnegie Mellon (dream school  - For sure
