My daughter will be home for a week at Thanksgiving, back to school for 10 days and then home for 10 days before finals. Her brother is graduating that week, so it will be nice to have her home to celebrate with us. She only has two exams and they are both on the very last day of finals, so she will head up a couple of days before hand. And then she will be home for 4 weeks at Christmas. But once she heads back to school in January, we won’t see her for four months, unless we go to her. We hope to visit her during her spring break camp and conference championships.

S (d1 baseball) will be home for a week at Thanksgiving - been an interesting fall. He’s seen 7 of his teammates cut after Fall season; he’s understandably shook up. He thinks his grades are going up - and he’s finding his footing. February will be good…time for season to start.

No Thanksgiving for D, she has to stay on campus for bb… we are flying our son there from his school and driving down and spending thanksgiving at embassy suites… all in the name of sport. Not so enthusiastic about it but she is happy. Not getting the play time she has hoped for or expected, big wake up call. Big fish in small pond at home but now small fish in big pond at school I keep asking her is she is happy and she says yes so I guess I just have to remember that.

My daughter is having the time of her life. Too much fun, lots of playtime, eating like a horse (the trainer told her to eat what she likes and often), getting used to being in constant pain, loves her dorm, loves her teammates, loves school. When does the honeymoon end.

beawinner, hopefully not when grades come out! My daughter started out exactly the same and then - she took her first anatomy test. That was a wake-up call! But I think she has sorted it out and found the right balance. Glad everyone seems to be doing well!
