I remembered how the 2013 version was so helpful and thought that newcomers may appreciate an updated one. My D is a Physical Theatre major, but the MT board gets more traffic so I thought I'd post it here.

Coastal Carolina University

M/W/F - 8:00- First Year Experience
All freshmen take this class
which for my D, consisted of
all Theatre students.
9:00- English 101. D didn't
arrive with any AP credits, so
she needed to take Eng. 101
and 102. This was her only
non-theatre course.
10:00- Principles of Dramatic
Analysis. Students read and
analyzed plays.

M/W - 2:00 Intro To Physical Theatre
First course in her major.
Consisted of Acting, clowning
juggling, etc.

F - 1:00 Common Hour- Weekly class
with all involved in the theatre
department. Included info,
guest presenters, cast talk
backs, etc.

T/Th - 12:15-1:30 Acting 1

T - 3:05-4:20 Stage Auditions

Th - 2:00 Private Saxophone lesson

She was cast in a show which started rehearsals in late September and closed right before Thanksgiving break. Rehearsals were Mon-Thurs. 6:30-10:30pm and 12-6 on Sundays.
There were some extra master classes on Saturday mornings as well.

She has been over the moon with her experience! There was plenty of time to get things done outside of the classroom (researching monologues, scene rehearsals, etc), but to hear it from her, there weren't enough hours in the day!

Looking to Spring '15, she will take:

Acting 1 Studio (applying lessons
learned in Acting 1

Eng. 102

Intro To Costuming

Intro To Music (gen. ed course)

Calculus (gen. ed course)

Ballet 1

Common Hour

Private piano lesson (tba)
