First Year Program

Anyone who has participated in this program? Is sounds intriguing to me but I wonder how kids enjoy it. Thanks.

You've probably already looked over this, but I thought I'd give you the link just in case: http://www.holycross.edu/departments/FYP/website/index.html

I think I'll be doing it, sounds pretty interesting to me too.

i don't know if this helps you, but i'm a member of the class of 2009 and was a part of the fyp program. it isn't for everyone, but a vast majority of the people in it know what the program will entail and love it. the fact that you get to live with all freshmen is great, and there are lots of events planned just for you. this year, we went to nyc and stayed overnight in an amazing hotel in the heart of the city, as well as attended productions of shakespeare's "hamlet" and "king lear." for anyone who likes to reflect upon their experiences and think deeply about the meaning of life and who they want to be/what they want from college, i highly recommend becoming a "fypper" as we are affectionately referred to as.

My sister is going to Holy Cross next year and she was wondering about the First Year program, also. She thought it seemed really cool and was very interested in it, but she was worried that she might be sort of set apart from the rest of the class. Because the First Year students have a dorm together and stuff. She's also running track there and was worried it might take up to much of her time.

So, if anybody else has some insight or thoughts about the First Year program, please post because i'd love to help my sister !
