Fischer's vs Gies

Hey there, I’m an international student who just got admitted into Gies in UIUC as well as a direct admit into Fischer’s in Ohio State. I’m not sure about the pros and cons of both the colleges since other rating websites don’t say much but I just wanted to get more information on both since it would help me choose before May.

Thanks!

Overall these business programs are equals.

Congratulations on your acceptances, you have two great options!

Have you visited both? If so, which one do you like better?

What are their relative net costs?

Take a look at the outcomes for the major(s) you are interested in…see if there are differences there…what companies recruit there, where geographically do the grads end up, etc…if you want more detail than is what is on their websites, call the career centers and ask.

Thanks! I’ll keep these parameters in mind when I do my research : )

I’d consider them to be peer institutions. Does one have a bigger/better reputation in your home country?

Nope, there’s no real preference of one over the other in my home country.

TOSU overall will be more into sports, UIUC’s teams aren’t very good so there’s no as much devotion.
Illinois is more liberal than Ohio but college towns tend to be relatively liberal.
Columbus is a city, Urbana-Champaign is a college town (a town dedicated to college students, with lots of shops and entertainment dedicated to them)… with literally cornfields and a train running in the middle.
UIUC overall has top-notch tech/CS/Engineering programs and top students come from all over to attend.

TOsu is closer to Pittsburgh if you want to visit a big city, and probably 10 hours to major East coast cities.
UIUC is about 3 hours from Chicago.
Basically there’s no wrong choice and you can choose the least expensive without fear, or let your personal préférences guide you without worry.
