So I'm trying to decide between UVa and U Mich right now for undergrad. U Mich seems to have a stronger program that pertain to one of my interests (film) but UVa is just my type of school in terms of everything else.
So for any actual college students on here, do you feel that its worth giving up the atmosphere to study exactly what I want or vice versa?

I wouldn’t give up the atmosphere, but that’s just me. I think it depends on the program. If you were medical or law or something that requires additional schooling, I would make sure I was studying at the best place to help launch myself toward that next step. However, for other fields, I think the college experience is really important, so I would probably sacrifice maybe the “best” program for the best place. And really - you can’t go wrong with either.
