FL in-state tuition questions?

I moved to FL in the beginning of Junior year. It was August and I had moved down with my parents and started school. We purchased the house in April, and paid taxes for the year of 2014. We have utility bills spanning back to June of 2014.

However, my parents didn’t not switch their old OOS licences until November 24th. UF, my top college, currently uses November 1st as a “priority deadline” and later applications as space-available decreasing my chances at admission. They haven’t even changed the vehicle tags yet.

I’ve finished my Junior year and finishing up my college applications and summer homework but I’m stressing over this because I might not qualify for in-state tuition until it’s too late.

Does the 12 month requirement mean before the semester starts for college or before I submit the application?

EDIT: It’s a lot easier using a Florida driver’s license and car registration, but it’s not the only option. Classes start next Monday…to give you a sense of when the 12 months kicks in…

Where did you live from Aug to June? Did you have a rental contract? Did either of your parents work in Florida? It sounds like you have another whole year (your senior year?) so it really is not an issue.

On the FAFSA and other documents, it will ask if you’ve been a resident for 5 years, and if not, since when. Just put down Aug 2013 if that’s when you moved to Florida.
