Fletcher Early Notification/Chances

I was wondering, does anyone have an idea of when the Fletcher Early Notification decisions will come out? I heard a rumor somewhere about "the second week of December", but I was wondering if anyone had a more concrete idea.

Also, in terms of my chances at being accepted to the MALD. I'm coming straight out of undergrad, but I have sort of special circumstances with a fellowship that requires me to go straight to grad school. I'm at an Ivy League School, 3.7+ GPA, Dual Major, Born Abroad but now a dual citizen (with the US), have traveled pretty extensively, proficient in several languages including Arabic and French, have had internships at two US embassies abroad, and a number of IR related internships domestically. GRE 730 V 710 Q. Any thoughts? How about KSG with these stats?

I've applied early notification as well. I thought we didn't hear back until January 1. This is making me anxious now.

Jan 1 is their official deadline, but last year the decisions came out Dec 14 and the admissions office told me they intend to send out the decisions before students head home for the holidays (which would be about now). I'm sorry to plunge you into the same anxiety that I've been experiencing! Let me know if you hear anything!

did you hear back? i got deferred. not exactly what i wanted but oh well.

I heard back from them on Friday. I was also deferred to the January applicant pool.

I've applied to this school a few times now. I think they hate me.

I'm sorry to hear you both had less than exciting news. I was accepted, which was a really big deal for me as I have a very strong preference in studying in Boston and of course it's a great school. Good luck in the next round, I've heard that if you're very persistent in showing your continued interest then you can really increase your chances.

What sort of profiles do you all have? If you don't want to get too specific, could you at least list your stats?

Thanks in advance!

Traveler22, as they say: " Alf Mabrouk!" :) MALD is an amazing program and I wish you all the best.

traveler22: First off, congrats on admission!

And as for your "persistent interest" comment, I mentioned that this will be my 3rd attempt at applying to Fletcher, so I'm not sure what more I can do to show that I'm interested. I also can't stand the thought of going through the application process again. So, it's grad school or bust this year.

youarefree: My stats.

Academic: 3.6 from a mediocre undergrad university. Major in IR, minor in East Asian studies. Junior year (2 semesters) abroad in China.

Returned to China after graduating to work/study.

Internships: local non-profit, State Dept (but not at a great post), and one with the UNDP in China after graduating.

Language: Mandarin (advanced)

Work experience: Not a whole lot, unfortunately. Currently in an entry level position that is completely unrelated to IR.

As I mentioned, I've applied to grad programs twice before, beginning in my senior year of undergrad. Last year I applied to SAIS, Fletcher, SIPA, GW, and UCSD. I was admitted only to UCSD and GW, but did not enroll in either. I'll be hitting up the same schools again this year, and will finally enroll even if I have the same results.
