Just finished the ADU over garage (see other thread) and now I am juggling two fun little projects that are really cute.
Pool House - Wooded Area of Point Loma. Daughter of my Contractor mentor here in Point Loma just finished building a new garage and pool with permits. I got a call begging whether I could come do a ‘Pool House’ in old garage and complete by June 15. Couldn’t figure out why this was an emergency but turns out they are having a big party on June 25. Somehow this became my emergency
I get over there to do a walk through and she wants a bathroom and bedroom carved out of the old garage with a family room with a giant open sliding door to pool. Luckily they had already ordered the big sliding door and windows or we would never be done by June 15. We got started about May 6th and we are almost done!!! I’ll loaded some starting pictures of the exterior. Biggest issue with this project is that the garage and house have original thick saw cut siding that just cannot be purchased anywhere. It’s going to have to be custom made at a local mill. We’ve torn apart a lot of the exterior - closed up a window, door and the big garage door - so we need siding for the exterior
Another issue with the Pool House project is we are doing it all without permits because it would take 9 months just to get a permit for this small work. The pool and new garage did not have final inspection yet and we had to hide all work until the inspections passed.
Historical Spanish House Garage Conversion - this is an old garage on the side of a beautiful historical house on Alhambra Street in Sunset Cliffs area. Prior owners did a permitted conversion of garage to a family room / bathroom. It’s stuck in the 70s!!! We are going to be replacing windows and doors, framing in a small area that was left as storage and moving the bathroom. New tankless water heater. Just started this one
When you said “pool house,” I was thinking of a place with changing rooms and showers and storage for pool toys and towels and swimsuits and maybe a couple of loungers. Like in the movies. Now I realize it’s a house by the pool!
Keep the first slash and get rid of the last one. Works for me.
Assemble the full URL in Notes, make sure it shows up as a URL and not just text (move away from the note and back to it - it will do that), and click on it.
You just have to use the “share” link instead of copying and pasting the URL. On my computer it says “share” on the right just under the banner/cover photo.
