flling out FAFSA for student who no longer lives at home

If the student has moved out of home and is no longer claimed on parents income tax - do they still list parents tax info on their FAFSA FORM

Short answer is yes. Until the age of 24, unless there are very limited circumstances you are considered a dependent regardless of who a student lives with or provides support. (Exceptions are marriage, have a child, have been a ward of the court after age 13, been deemed homeless by your school are the only few I can think of)

Have an undergrad degree already, have been in the military are two more.

How old is this student? Where does she live? Who is paying her bills?

For financial aid purposes, your parent info will likely still be required for her as an undergrad.

She is 18 - lives in apartment over my brother’s business with my niece - they clean the business offices and shop in return for rent

She is still considered YOUR dependent for financial aid purposes. Doesn’t matter that she lives elsewhere. Parent financials will be required on the financial aid application forms. That will include parents incomes and assets…not JUST income.

She is not homeless, a ward of the state, supporting a dependent child, married, a military veteran, an orphan or over age 24.

thank you - just needed to be sure - how it should be handled
