Florida Opportunity Scholarship Results

It was received 3/5/2015 and accepted 3/6/2015

Has anybody ever heard of someone submitting it later before the deadline and getting the scholarship. I really hope I get the scholarship but I submitted mine March 26 and it was accepted the 9th of April

When did you submit your form @BellDong ?
Also if you guys don’t mind what income do your parents have?

I sent mine in 2/29 by mail. It was recieved by 3/4 and accepted on 3/9. I know how your feeling, but dont worry if they recieved your forms before april 15 then they will review it like every other forms. Looking at the past discussions I saw that some people were even notified in july.

Thanks for the reassurance @BellDong I really hope I get it! And congrats on receiving it!!

Are you guys having the same Award package or has it been recently updated ?

My award package has stayed the same.

@BellDong Have you been able to open the certification form?

No, I asked a few others and they are all having the same problem. I believe the certifications will be mailed to us and we have to sign and return it to them.

@BellDong @FoxA23 I think you guys have to send in the certification form and once they process it, the scholarship will be added to your financial aid award. You will probably receive an email saying your financial aid award was updated or changed. Call them and ask where you would get the certification form because you can’t click it online.

@BellDong I was looking at old threads and saw that, that’s what happened. So if you don’t get it in the next week or so I would call them and tell them you never received the certification form and you were wondering where it was. I saw on some threads that some people never got it mailed and they had to call to get it sent to them.

Yes, I will make the call on monday. Liz have you recieved yours?

@BellDong I have not :frowning: I’m checking every day and holding on to what McGonigle told me that they will keep sending them until May 1st and just pray and hope every day that I do. I keep wondering if my late submission will make me not get it, but then why would they make the deadline on the 15th right? I submitted it in March but they accepted it this month so I’m not sure which date they really go by :// Thank you for asking! I’ll let you know if I do!!

Congrats to everyone that got it!

Sent mine in by fax 2/23 and was accepted 2/24. Haven’t heard anything back yet and I’m so nervous!
So, if for some reason you don’t get the scholarship, what would your ISIS say? I’ve heard from everyone I know that has it that as long as you get the supplemental form and send it in quick you’re guaranteed to get it but I’m still super nervous.

If the status didint change that means they havent yet reviewd your forms. I dont think if its first come first serve.

Since it does not seem to be first come first serve, for the people who received the supplemental form, did you already commit to UF before you found out? I’m curious to see if there is any correlation.

I chose UF as my first choice and commited a few days after I was admitted.

@Likutg I still haven’t “officially” committed. UF is my first choice, I’ve just been waiting to hear back from this scholarship before committing.

@BellDong and @FoxA23 What are your household incomes, if you don’t mind sharing? Maybe it has to do with the income? Those who make the least might have a higher chance of getting it??

I know the average family income of the recipients is 18,292.

Good luck to everyone! I found out that I am a Gates Millennium Scholar this weekend and that took off a lot of anxiety and stress. I wonder how that will work out, like will I have to choose one scholarship or the other?
