Florida Southern is probably my top choice right now. I’m a northerner who physically can’t tolerate the cold, so going down south is my best bet. However, I’m having a very hard time finding a college that meets my wishlist down in the south (minimal greek life, mid-sized (largest i’ll go is 15,000), decent-good nightlife, athletic clubs and intramurals, people from different states and decently diverse). Florida Southern is my top choice as of now, but there are a few things i’m concerned about (in order of importance). Also, my SAT score is an 1870, and my GPA is about a 3.6

1) Greek Life: I do not plan on joining a fraternity or sorority. I am considering running for their Cross Country team, but I fear if for some reason I decide not to after doing it for a bit, I’ll be sort of alienated. I wouldn’t really care if it wasn’t such a small school, and news wouldn’t be spread around quickly. I am worried though about how much Greek life there is at FSC, and if I would fit in if I don’t join a sorority.

2) Small Size/Nightlife: I felt very comfortable during my visit, and have felt similarly at other small schools. I want a good social scene/night life at whatever school I go to, but that isn’t overwhelming like a lot of larger schools. However, I also don’t want it to be completely sober and everyone singing campfire songs around a picture of the pope. I’m looking for something in the middle. Would i get that at FSC?

Thank you very much! Also, if anyone knows of other colleges (not necessarily in Florida) that sound like a good fit down south, please let me know. Thank you!
