Can anyone give insights into both Uni’s program ?
My student got accepted into both for the Spring term as a Junior transfer.
His figuring out which one to enter.
Cost is not an issue as his on a private scholarship.
Is there anything unique from each Uni that might give him an advantage in the future for graduate school ?
His first choices was Uni of Virginia and G. Tech but got rejected for both.

ASU has the much larger and better funded program. ASU engineering research expenditures were 85 Million in 2014 (32+ million in EE). FSU was 14 million (a little more than 1 million in electrical). If your student wants to do undergraduate research, they may find more opportunities at ASU.
Generally, the traditional engineering disciplines at ASU are strong. One Lake Jr.'s favorite professors is an ASU engineering alumnus. On the other hand, the FAMU-FSU joint engineering college is a problematic political football.

It is an arbitrage opportunity for some students, since one can get the same engineering courses at a likely lower cost at FAMU than at FSU.
