Hi.
I have some pretty bad food allergies (i.e it can’t be made on equipment with nuts, no traces and I can’t touch them) but they’re pretty common now (peanuts & nuts except for almonds and hazelnuts). Are most boarding schools nut free? How would one go about daily life with these allergies? Thanks.
If you’re planning on paying 30,000+ dollars a year for a high school education, it’s highly likely they’ll be able to accommodate your allergies. Email the schools you’re interested in and ask them about their policies.
$30K? More like $50K.
Boarding schools can accommodate within reason and it could differ from school to school. Many schools have a nutritionist on staff. You could check with them or the director of food services.
Yikes, I suppose you’re right. Geez, I hope they’re worth it for that much.
Each school is different, but I know there are kids at DS school with severe FA and the dining halls are accommodating.
