I visited last summer and it was pretty good, but I’ve heard that is is not good and there is no variety. Is this still true, or is the food getting any better?
Also, how to Amherst students like having just one dining hall? Is it nice to have everyone together, or is it bad because you have just one option for food? Are there any cafes or other options to grab food on campus? Thanks!
D loves it. Lots of options, their own farm, lots of local food. She usually does grab and go for lunch, that’s in the student center and is part of the meal plan, just faster (sandwich and sides). There are two cafes on campus and of course town has tons of stuff.
The food is not the best, not the worst. It really varies depending on the meal and the day. I’d say their dinners are probably the best, their breakfasts probably their most mundane. But the main positives are that they (as I believe) always have a salad bar, a plethora of drinks, and unlimited soft serve ice cream
