Hello all! Does anyone have any information on the food science major program at Vtech? Size of program, employers that hire grads, etc.? My daughter will be applying in September for next school year. so far we have looked at Rutgers, Delaware, and Purdue, but we haven’t visited vtech bcz it’s pretty far for us. But D is very interested in attending and so we were looking for any info we can. Thanks!
@cakeisgreat See attached links. This major is in the College of Agriculture & Science. Fall 2014, there were 41 applications, 32 acceptances and 9 enrolled. So, it appears to be a very small program by itself. However, the “core” classes required science and math classes (2 years BIO & CHEM, PHYS, Calc) are all consistent with other majors within the College of Science with significant participants. For example, General Bioscience major has about 1,100 Freshman, Chem major 100. I also included a link to VT’s Post graduation survey information.
