There was only a lottery for the Notre Dame and NC State games. Very few people didn't get tickets to them. The rest of the games were just walkins. Don't worry. You won't have any problems getting tickets. Basketball, on the other hand, is a crapshoot. My freshman year, I got 1 ticket all season, but some people on my floor got tickets to almost every game.

If you're crafty, you can pretty much get into every basketball game, either by begging people who won the lottery to take you, or by getting in the standby line. Most people can get into any game through the standby line, as in, even everybody in the standby line for the Duke game last year got in. Granted, they may be crappy seats, but you're usually able to get in. The only time I heard of when not everybody got in via the standby line was the Evansville game over winter break (this is when Psycho T broke Phil Ford's scoring record), and there's a different ticket policy over winter break, ie there are a certain number of student tickets for each winter break game, based on what the CAA (Carolina Athletic Association) thinks will be the approx. number of attendance at the beginning of the season. Of course, nobody knew that Hansbrough would break the record during the Evansville game, so the CAA didn't reserve too many student tickets (ie they sold a lot of what would have, during the semester, been student tickets), leaving hundreds of students in the cold outside of the Dean Dome. But, like I said, that's not generally the case.

getting tickets to football games is easy. basketball is not bad as people make it out to be, but its not easy like football is

I haven't won basketball lottery tickets once this year, yet I've been to every single game excluding the ones over break. The trick is to either find someone to take you (we're given 2 tickets) or wait on facebook until someone says "I can't use my tickets, does anyone want them?" in their status. Works every time.

Football is definitely fun, but as with basketball, you'll hear a lot of people that don't know what's going on yelling about random stuff. And they're often drunk from tailgating, so that makes it more annoying. At the State game some girl just kept screaming about how badly Yates sucked and to put Cam Sexton in, so my friends and I started yelling to put Tyler Hansbrough in.

To be fair,

Yates and Sexton were both pretty miserable at the end of the season. Maybe she should have been calling for Paulus?

Maybe she should have been calling for Paulus?

Aahh! Lets see, he had about 8 throws this season, and 2 were interceptions that cost us the Virginia Tech game. Cooter Arnold would have been a better backup QB that Paulus.

So your from Cali, but you didn't say what your used to. Like others have posted UNC isn't going to sell out a lot and gets overshadowed by basketball.

Not for long: Rivals.com has the new UNC recruiting class that signs tomorrow rated at #3 behind only Ohio State and LSU. That's pretty lofty company.

Uhh are you serious Mpratt? UNC football sold out every game this year...

How easy or hard would it be for me to buy two tickets to the game against georgia tech (non student)? Like the day of, are there alot of scalpers outside? and what is the price range with them?

nevermind the above
