I actually asked whether or not the department had received my portfolio. Then I asked if the decision letters would be mailed separately, like one from Tisch and one from the university, like USC does. And then, I just asked and when should I be hearing back from you guys and he was really cool about it.

any mail decisions today? esp. west coast?

i saw a fat envelope when i got home only to find out that merced was sending me their acceptance package AGAIN O_O
go figure

my mail comes between 4:30-5:00 so i have no idea
basically everyone at my school has been accepted except for like 3 of us, it totally sucks

main did you have to give them your nyu id or just your name? cause i haven't memorized my nyu id... like my usc id lol

Just my name.

thanks, have you gotten your mail yet?

Today, yeah, I have. nothing. ehhh

:[... mine comes soon.. i'm so nervous

We're rooting for you.

nothing :[
i'm rooting for all of you too, i mean we have to maintain the trojan cc bond lol

well i have gotten into Chapman and NYU screenwriting now... im pretty sure ill get into LMU... and my USC app essay and portfolio, give or take a sentence or two and a couple continuity problems was god-like compared to the other apps... hoping for the best

what did you write about for your creative samples? I tell you, though. It took me about 4 weeks to finish that portfolio. It was virtually flawless

I was so proud of my hole-punched, two-brass fastened Acco #5, of course, scenes. I finished everything on Final Draft to make sure that I got the margins and page settings right, though. I love Final Draft. It makes my life so much easier and I type almost every day, so it's a God-send.

lol yea i took two days off school to finish that... in one of my scripts i refered to an airforce pilot as a marine and noticed after... otherwise pretty clean... i didnt bind them or anything but i printed it in high quality. i probably should have printed it on money to increase my chances

well, really and truly I think so much of it is simply having the desire enough to write screenplays that you know sufficient about them to be able to write one effectively. sometimes I think that they aren't necessarily looking for extraordinarily written scenes, but more so if a person has the will power to foster his own creativity. The man who got stuck in the elevator was late for a New Years party with his bosses, and the other was about a child who pleads to her father not to leave her. I made sure to include some V.O and I think that one had a montage and a series of shots. Both came out fairly well, I thought.

I hate Cingular and the big envelops they put the bills in.

LoL. I get paperless statements.

ahh do you think it takes longer to review production portfolios compared to screenwriting portfolios? or maybe it's just that production gets more applicants?

I'd imagine that it would take about the same time, although that'll get me crucified by people claiming I have no idea what I am talking about, it's all speculative.

ya... i'm just really anxious to hear back... and i think i've asked all the questions i can ask, so i'm just fishing for answers on anything... lol
