My friend is planning on doing architecture or architectural engineering, so I was wondering if Umich offers these programs, and if Umich is any good at them (I'm saying this in a non-insulting way). If someone could shed some light on the architecture department at Umich for me, that would be great.

For information on umich architecture just visit the following site:

You need to apply for architecture before junior year after you finish the prereqs for it. Umich is pretty renown for architecture; however, there isn’t really a set “ranking” for this major so its difficult to tell of its placing. I would definitely rank it in the top 20 of the nation.

I think your friend should have done some research (no to be offensive but UM architecture is one of the best and it should be quite easy to know if UM offers these programs). [michigan architecture](http://www.tcaup.umich.edu/architecture/) You have to be pre-admitted for the undergrad program if you want to enter it from high school (you spend your freshman sophomore year at LSA and then you automatically get transferred to Taubman your junior year). Otherwise, you apply your sophomore year. UM is consistently ranked at the top 10 by the Architecture magazine, the DesignIntelligence journal
