When are grades posted by for the fall semester? I know profs can post them whenever they are done, but what is the deadline?

8.D.10 Grades

On the Ann Arbor and Flint campuses, grades are due within 72 hours after the scheduled final examination. On the Dearborn Campus, grades are due 48 hours after the final exam. Individual schools, colleges, and other academic units may have specific deadlines and procedures for submission of grades.

It is important not to post grades by name, social security number, or other identifying category or in an alphabetical list that permits identification of students, because to do so violates the student’s right to privacy. See Sections 12.D, “Student Records” and 12.E, “Faculty Handling of Student Records/References.”

There is no University-wide grading scale, although some units have guidelines or requirements about grading procedures. Faculty should check with their academic unit for information about any policies or procedures that may apply to them.

Disputes regarding grades are handled according to the policy and procedure of the school or college. See also Section 8.D.2, “Academic Integrity and Academic Misconduct” and Section 8.D.6, “Dispute Resolution/Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities.”

Even though the 72 hour thing may be accurate, they will certainly be posted later than that on Wolverine Access.

So apparently A+'s count as 4.4s according to my sweet gpa of one grade....it can only go downhill from here lol

haha....I believe A+'s still count as 4.0's though

yeah.. a+ still count as only 4.0.

nope, i definately have a 4.4 right now. I've heard that in the bschool A+s count as 4.4s..so thats probably why. woohoo

How long do you normally need to wait after the 72 hours for your grades to be posted? Also, are weekends included in the 72 hour period? Thanks, and sorry if I sound a little anxious about first semester grades.

it all depends on your professors and how quickly they do grades..there is not set time

"Even though the 72 hour thing may be accurate, they will certainly be posted later than that on Wolverine Access."

Does this mean the profs don't follow the required 72 hour rule or that they are provided to the student through other means (C-Tools, email, etc.)?

Will the A+ still show up on my transcript even though it only counts as a 4.0?

Yes, A+'s still show up as A+'s.

"Does this mean the profs don't follow the required 72 hour rule or that they are provided to the student through other means (C-Tools, email, etc.)?"

Some just don't get them in on time.

Thanks, dilksy and samwise!

hmm... so if A+'s count as 4.4.. does that mean our gpa scale is out of 4.4 rather than the standard 4.0? for example.. a 3.5/4.4 rather than 3.5/4.0.

nope it is still out of 4.0

Only the b-school uses A+ = 4.4s, so for the rest of us we don't have to think about it.

Did everyone do as well as they hoped/expected?

none of my grades are posted.

I like my 4.0 right now. And yes, going downhill when the rest is posted.

I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a 3.3, mainly because of Econ. I'm not too worried, I'll do better next semester.
