For ED - do Admissions know about the financials of an applicant?

VS - at EA , when you do not provide financial info? Or maybe vs RD , - in which case, when do you provide financials to the college?

implied question:

for ED, do you get an admit/deny decision BEFORE the college looks at your financials?

or still,

Is the process for ED....?

1) submit app
2) wait for admit/deny/wait decision
3) if admit, submit your financials?
4) Get Fa package (assuming you cked that you will appy for FA)

My understanding for many ED programs, particularly at the higher ranks, is that you are actually required to submit financial information as part of the application process so the college can provide you with an estimate of financial aid that will be awarded soon after the decison on ED is sent (that is done to give you the oppurtunity to discuss the situation and potentially be allowed out of ED if your family cannot handle the cost).

If, as it appears, your question goes to whether the college will consider your financial situation in making a decision on admission, the answer is many do not (even if they require you to submit financial info) but many do.

thanks for the clarification
