For laptop, do you use Windows or Apple?
Do most people use Apple? Because I'm used to Windows.
Will there be a problem if everyone and the professor are using Apple and I am using Windows? What if the professor has some software the I can't use in Windows?

Depends a bit on your field of study. Apparently the psych department uses some software that is apple-only, meanwhile the reverse happens in the engineering disciplines. There are computer labs all over campus though, with all of this software already on it.

What if I have a human bio major?

You’ll probably use Microsoft Word and Excel a lot, so really anything goes. They make versions of both for Apple, but I personally like them better on Windows because that’s what they were made for. There seems to be a trend (in upper division bio classes, I mean) towards submitting papers online and having TAs grade them using Word’s track changes, so it would probably be advantageous to just make sure you have the whole Microsoft Office package, regardless of what type of computer you use.
Really, you’ll find both PCs and Macs everywhere and there shouldn’t be many issues.
