For my optional essay, can I...

Write a poem for prompt number seven?

It says to "write a short story" using one of the given titles (I'm using "The Getaway"), but I have this poem that kind of reads like a story, and I'd like to submit it (it pretty much falls under a "magical realism" genre). Can I interpret the prompt like that?

Even before I read your post, from the moment I saw the title of the thread, I knew I would answer:

Yes.

I also chose to do a poem, but in response to the Kermit (#4) prompt. Mine is wayyy under 250 - 400 words, though…it’s about 150 words. Is it alright if my “essay” is UNDER the suggested limit?

Even before I read your post, from the moment I saw the title of the thread, I knew I would answer:

Yes.

Limit = suggested ceiling. Being under should be fine, as long as you are able to tell them what you want to tell em!

Is it alright if my essay doesn’t really fit one of the prompts? It is about my reaction to a book I read and how it shaped my academic interests.
