What school were you wait listed at? I was wait listed at the School of Engineering.

arts and science. whats the best course of action to take now that we’ve been waitlisted?

I was waitlisted for A&S too.

Yeah honestly there were at least 15 kids who applied at my school. One got in, and two including me got waitlisted the rest were denied so don’t feel too bad.

Peabody. 9 applied this year, and 1 got in.
I really, really hope I can get off the waitlist! -sigh-
I wish I knew what the breakdown of waitlist acceptances based off college.

Arts and Sciences!

No one else wait listed at engineering? That’s kind of surprising. I’m guessing everyone here accepted their spot on the wait list?

I am a freshman this year and got waitlisted last year also. Write an e-mail to your advisor for your region updating her with any new information since you applied, such as how your grades are, any new activities, etc. Also, it is a great idea to call him/her and ask how you can enhance your application, and let them know that if you got in you would for sure go there.

D was waitlisted in engineering. She has no idea of her chances of getting off the wait list so will probably go to Case Western or Notre Dame. Can I assume it is just a matter of which departments have openings after May 1?

The way it works is that during the first week of May, they will look at who accepted their offers. They will look at how many slots they need filled at each school (and for engineering and music, specific majors). From there they will look at demographics of those who accepted (geographic distribution, male/female ratio, ethnic mix, etc.). After that they will see who fits those needs they will also look at financial need (about half of the people admitted demonstrated need) and from there they will make their offers.

I got waitlisted for engineering also. Just a note: if you don’t really want to be on the waitlist because you’re pretty sure you going to another college remove yourself from the wait list. This way people who really need to go and want it as an option can hae a better chance. THanks!
