okay dude, first of all: yee!! indian pride!

secondly,
I have to agree that you gotta raise those SAT scores.. although a 1490 is great, you still want 2250+ for SATs

also, what are your subject test scores?
AP scores?
course load (specifically what classes)

and lastly,
everything people say won't do much because even if you have the best stats, your uniqueness is what counts
you seem like the typical indian boy, although you are great at sports other than cricket :)

I feel like some of the criticism so far has been kind of harsh. I wouldn't say you are in or out for sure so far with the info provided.

"kids with much higher gpa/hard classes, sat scores, activities, etc., got rejected this year." The opposite is also true so I don't think this comment helps anyone.

I don't know what level of commitment you have with your EC's but they definitely don't sound bad. Right now top colleges do not consider the writing portion too much so the major focus is still Math and CR so your combined 1490 out of 1600 is pretty good. As for your grades, normally a 3.7 is kind of low for an elite college but if your high school is a highly competitive public magnet like you say, it's not a prohibitively low GPA. Hopefully your transcript will boast very challenging courses and an upward trend in grades.
