For the 2nd time in 3 years, Yale more selective than Harvard

Yeah, Yale and Harvard are so very different in terms of everything that few people would be interested in both. Besides the name, at either school you have to realize you would have some amazing peers. Also, this thread is useless. Please measure the size of your egos in your own threads. ;)

With the abrupt resignation of Harvard's president, it's interesting to see all the coverage in the Harvard Crimson about how Harvard has slipped in relation to its competitors -- especially Yale, which now has 30% more applications per spot in the entering class than Harvard, more early applications and a lower acceptance rate, not to mention 4 Marshall and 3 Rhodes scholars this year (versus just 1 Marshall at Harvard).

It has to do not only with Harvard's failure to have any decent campus life, but also the overcrowded classes, disinterested professors and lack of quality undergraduate education (when compared to schools like Caltech, Yale and Princeton).

In fact, Harry Lewis, a computer science professor at Harvard, recently completed a book about Harvard that's about to be released, titled, "Excellence Without a Soul: How a Great University Forgot Education."

You may think that the two schools are similar, but beneath the surface they are very, very different.

Harvard: Prestige whores
Yale: Old money, aristocratic
