500+ hours of community service

Hardships:
Poor, father imigrated from Africa

Im applying to UC Davis, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, and Cornell

the only impressive thing i see is the 500 community service hours. however, unless they are something meaningful (like tutoring disadvantaged kids), i don't see it making a HUGE difference

reject from cornell

if i'm not mistaken, and that UC schools do not practice affirmative action, reject from UCLA and UCB

apply to some other schools that practice AA

You will get into cornell.

I know another African american, like myself, who got in on a 1650 or so and a 3.4 gpa.

o yeah, disregard innocentstalker1's post. dude is a hater!

^^ i also know a chicken who spoke english

anecdotes are meaningless

That's a funny list you have there. If you're willing to come to the east coast, why would you only have one school (Cornell) on there? What's so special about Cornell?

What are you interested in studying?

How many times have we gone over this with you about AA? Being African-American DOES help. And there's a chances forum, which is where this belongs.
